For while we were yet weak, in due season Christ died for the ungodly. Rom. 5,6

Do not be worried!

I say to you, do not be worried about your life, as to what you will eat or what you will drink; nor for your body, as to what you will put on. Mat. 6:25

Oh, many says - when they hear words like this from the Master - how is that possible? - Surely, it is so much to worry about in this world - in life.
Yes, in this way one hear a commandment out of a word of comfort so many a time, and that is because the idea naturally suggests itself for our old self, to see God as the one who require something of us. The sinful heart is full of fear towards God.
But it is not like this for the one who has got the Gospel revealed to his heart - the one who has met Jesus as He really is, the good sheppard who does not lay burdens on, but lifts them off. Take on My burden, My burden is light, He says, then you shall be let off carrying your own, which is heavy. Or as He says further on after our text: «Seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you!» (v.33).
The man who lives on this place hears the word of comfort as a word of comfort, He does not hear promises as orders and does not look to his own ability, but His!
You are allowed to let go of worrying, certain about this - it is He who bears all yours now, everything concerning your life, and who knows all your worries! In other words, you are allowed to know, that you do not need to be worried!
When you feel worried, it is not anything you shall feel judged and a demand to not be, but you shall know that He knows it, and already has taken all of it on Himself. Therefore you can come to Him with it.
You who have taken your refuge to Jesus, you are free! - free indeed!
