For while we were yet weak, in due season Christ died for the ungodly. Rom. 5:6

All the way to Him - now!

   - the shepherds began saying to one another, "Let us go straight to Bethlehem then, and see this thing that has happened which the Lord has made known to us." Luke 2:15

«Let us now go all the way to Betlehem.» - The earlier translation (Norw.) put it that way. «All the way to -» It says something definite to us: They did not stop before they had reach the goal and saw what the angels had testified. - Reached Jesus.
Many can sit year after year and listen to the same proclamation as these shepherds got to hear, but a spiritual lethargy and sluggishness kind of keeps them captured, so they never reach all the way to what they have heard.
Maybe you who read this now in these Christmas days - when this message sounds especially - are one of them who lays captured in such a lethargy.
Then you must hear more about this child in the manger, namely what He has come to this earth for. Something He tells you Himself in His Word: «THE SPIRIT OF THE LORD IS UPON ME... HE HAS SENT ME TO PROCLAIM RELEASE TO THE CAPTIVES... TO SET FREE THOSE WHO ARE OPPRESSED.» (Luke 4:18).
It has never been in the thoughts of the Lord, that you should set yourself free, by any own wills effort, by pulling yourself together etc., but He Himself has come to do do it, and there is no captivity He cannot set free from!
Call on Him today, that He always must wake you up from lethargy, so that you shall not come short of entering His rest. (Heb. 4:1).
These two translations both tells us something important: They went straight to Bethlehem - that is, they broke loose, they did not postpone it to tomorrow. And they went all the way
to - til they reached the goal, and saw what was proclaimed unto them!
Haven't you heard it? - Something has happened in Bethlehem!
