For while we were yet weak, in due season Christ died for the ungodly. Rom. 5:6

It will come about!

And it will come about that whoever calls on the name of the LORD Will be delivered. Joel 2:32

It is a wonder at a Christian, how the people of this world so often can pass through the most extreme trials straight into death, without even consider to call on the name of the Lord! It tells us, that hardening is not some unusual state among us.
It is also tragic to hear people who faces death, talk wildly about what they might meet on the other side, if anything at all. And this accordingly in a country where the savior - His death and resurrection - has been preached for more than thousand years!
But how does not this underline what reason you have to thank the Lord today for this, that you are allowed to be among those who are seeing, and have hope - not only for this life, but also beyond it.
It stands firm, today too - as sure as this promise still stands written in the Word of God, and never can be taken out of it - that whoever calls on the name of the LORD Will be delivered!
This statement does not open up for the slightest shred of doubt! - The doubt must have its cause in you, if that is the case, because the Word does not give us any reason for it - it says: You
will be delivered!
Where do you find reason for doubt here? Read it again, and do it over and over again, until you see what is really written here. The Father sent His Son to the world, exactly because of your need, before you on the whole were thinking of Him, or saw your own need - and now He should step back when you call! No, it is exactly this call He has wanted to hear! Now you are open for the salvation that already has been finished for you,
before
you were formed in the womb. (Jer. 1:5a). - The one that was firmly decided in God's counsel before the foundation of the world!
Now mark how our text begins: «And it will come about!»
