For while we were yet weak, in due season Christ died for the ungodly. Rom. 5:6

Bought back!

"They will be Mine," says the LORD of hosts, "on the day that I prepare My own possession." Mal. 3:17

We human beings - mankind - was one day created by Him, and belonged to Him, both by the creation of our body itself, but even more by that, that He breathed the breath of life into us (Gen. 2:7) - but by the devils seduction and the fact of the fall of man we became lost possessions. So we are not His without any more ado, like many people of this world thinks. The truth is that we had to be bought back!
Therefore is the Lord talking about a particular day in history here, when He shall do His work, a work that will cause that we once again will become His possession!
Peter is writing about this work in his letter - because now it has happened, that which in this text is a prophecy -: «- knowing that you were not redeemed with perishable things like silver or gold from your futile way of life inherited from your forefathers, but with precious blood, as of a lamb unblemished and spotless, the blood of Christ.» (1 Pet. 1:18-19).
And then he writes further: «He was foreknown before the foundation of the world» - like we also are seeing of the prophecy here! - «but has appeared in these last times for the sake of you» - then Peter is talking about Jesus whom he himself had seen, heard and touched as a human being - «who through Him are believers in God, who raised Him from the dead and gave Him glory, so that your faith and hope are in God.» (1 Pet. 1:20-21).
By Him He has lead us back to himself!
Let this Word of the Lord sound for your inner being today: «They will be mine! - My own possession!»

He is longing to own you, and bought you back with His own blood! Can you think of any safer ground to rest on!
