The helmet of salvation

   Take the helmet of salvation. Eph. 6:17

   The salvation is like a protecting helmet, it can take the sword blows against the head that otherwise would have cut you down!
   Just consider - with what should you have met the flaming arrows of the evil one, your own hearts condemnation and the accusations from the Law of God, if you did not had the helmet of salvation?
   No, the Word of God speaks this way: «Take up the shield of faith with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.» (Eph. 6:16).
   Take up the shield of faith? But what else do we Christians believe in, than just the salvation in Jesus Christ!
   About our own hearts condemnation - which is not without reason - the Word says: «We will assure our heart before Him in whatever our heart condemns us; for God is greater than our heart and knows all things.» (1 John 3:20). - And what the condemnation from the Law of God concerns - which also have its reason - the Word says: «Through Him everyone who believes is freed from all things, from which you could not be freed through the Law of Moses.» (Acts 13:39).
   You see, in each individual case you are called to reckon on something outside yourself, something you own in another!
   Now, take this blessed helmet of salvation which is handed to you, and do not think for a moment more, that you shall be able to stand by anything else! It protects you against all the attacks from the enemy. - Also the one you bear in your own chest - because he who receives Gods salvation is at the same moment dressed in the full armor of God! - And then you know what lays ahead of you now, right up to the day you get in to heaven itself - you are allowed to count on His salvation the whole way!
