For while we were yet weak, in due season Christ died for the ungodly. Rom. 5:6

Nothing can be hidden!

The Lord... who will... bring to light the things hidden in the darkness. 1 Cor. 4:5

If there is something that characterizes the disciples wandering together with Jesus here on earth, it is this, that they in their association with Him not only learns Him constantly better to know, but also themselves!
This that was covered in darkness to them when they first met Jesus - how their condition really was, the sin, the cowardice, the urge to exalt oneself etc., that had been there all the time, but until now was only vagued acknowledged - that stepped forward now into the light, out in the full daylight, so they themselves saw, and had to acknowledge it!
Many is offended by this, withdraws from this light, and do not want to face the truth.
It was not like that with the disciples. Jesus says - among other things - about them, in what is called His high priestly prayer: «They were Yours and You gave them to Me, and they have kept Your word.» That is, they accepted it, and believed it. And further: «I have given them Your word.» (John 17:6 og 14).
They took also what was hurting, when it brought them to a true meeting with their own self.
But this word also reveals that all the evil people do in the dark - all that which it tries to hide, will one day be brought into light. Often already here in this life, so that it becomes known by everyone, but if not, so at any rate on the last day!
This should cause a serious consideration. Just think of slander for instance, or all those condescending thoughts that you may have had about other people - people who Jesus, in spite of all their weaknesses, loves, and has given Himself for.
But that which shall be brought to light this way, and get its final judgment, it is all that that was not settled with the Lord already when you still was on this earth.
What you have read now, does it bring uneasiness to your heart in any way, then call on Him now, and do not postpone it!
